Founding Father Benjamin Rush wrote "A Moral and Physical Thermometer" and an accompanying newspaper article ("An Inquiry into the Effects of Spirituous Liquors on the Human Body and the Mind") in the hopes that by the 20th century "a drunkard… will be as infamous in society as a liar or a thief..."

Thankfully for us (and unfortunately for Benjamin) cocktails and spirits are alive & well today, so in honor of Dr. Rush and his contribution to cocktail/spirit history The Boston Shaker commissioned Repeat Press of Somerville, MA to produce a limited run of "A Moral and Physical Thermometer".
